Play Time
We have amazing school grounds and we take turns on the playground, apparatus and field. We wear our wellies every day and so we can play outside in all weathers. As the weatheris very changeable we ask that your child brings a coat with them everyday.
PE
This year our PE sessions are on Fridays.
We come to school wearing our PE kits. We wear leggings or joggers, a t-shirt, a warm jumper and trainers as we like to do PE outdoors when the weather is fine.
Forest School
This year our Forest School sessions are on Monday.
We are given waterproof trousers to wear, but we need to bring our own warm waterproof coat. When the weather turns colder we also need to bring our gloves, hat and scarf. We find it much more comfortable to wear trousers or leggings to school on our Forest School day.
Swimming
This year our swimming day is on a Thursday morning
We bring our swimming kit to school in a rucksack that we can carry on our back. We need to be able to dress and undress ourselves at the pool, and so we practice at home to make sure we are quick changers! We find it easier to wear clothes that are easy to take on and off (like joggers). We put our names on all our clothes too, to make sure that we wear our own clothes home again.
Reading
We love reading! We bring book bags to school everyday. Your child will bring home new reading books regularly. Please try to read with your child as often as you can and write a comment in their reading record to let us know that you have read with them.
Bookbags are available from the school office for £6.00 if you wish to purchase one.
Packed Lunch
We always write our name on the outside of our packed lunch bag and our drinks bottle. This makes it much easier for us to find, especially when our friends have the same ones.
Snack Time
All children will be given the choice of milk or water at snack time. Please can you provide a piece of fruit (or vegetable if you prefer) for your child each day. If you fell your child is not able to eat a whole piece of fruit, please send in chopped fruit in a pot with their name on. Please remember to slice grapes in half vertically.
Drinks Bottle.
Please can all children bring in a labelled drink bottle containing water.
Birthdays
As we are a Healthy School; on our birthdays rather than bringing in sweets and cakes, we bring in a selection of fruit which staff will cut up and we can all share together at snack time.
