Eco Committee
Mount Street Nursey and Infants school have an active Eco-Committee made up of children from across the school. It is their job to represent, monitor and guide their fellow pupils in environmental and current issues.
As a result of their efforts, we have been awarded the bronze, silver and gold flags in the Eco School project, and gained the ultimate Platinum Eco School Status. This has been successfully renewed every year since. This has been continuous with each new Committee that has taken over from the previous group, proving that these ideals are a part of the whole school and have a positive affect on every pupil throughout the ages groups.
Our Eco-Committee have taken a lead role in identifying key projects within the school. These actions are shared with the school and monitored by the Committee. The Committee share information in assemblies and have ‘Eco monitors’ to ensure all classes are given support with the Eco projects.
Our Eco-Committee has represented us outside of the school as well. Whereas most schools send their YR 6 children as representatives, we are proud of our pupils and the way that they conduct themselves and voice their opinions both inside and outside of the school.
